Indeed, it is alarming enough to learn that with a thoroughly gratuitous display of religious overkill, our own Department of Defense now utilizes the apocalyptic services of something called Christian Embassy to addle and corrupt the Democratic hearts and minds of its in-house personnel even more than it already has, while, at the same time, proselytizing to many of the foreign officials it is called upon to deal with everyday.
Now, it has come to light that by contracting with another apocalypse-friendly outfit, one that calls itself Operation Straight Up, the DOD has expanded its divine reach so that it might also augment the way it confuses and corrupts its personnel out in the field.
All in the name of, and subsidized by, the citizens of potentially the most hospitable home of Democratic dignity, honor and integrity that the world has ever known, the American taxpayer!
That by its behavior in these two instances the DOD has made a partisan, self-serving political decision that not only violates the U. S. Constitution’s separation of church and state, but also forces those of its personnel who choose to abide its decision to be in contempt of their oath of service that they are duty-bound to uphold, is beyond question! Given its behavior, how can the Pentagon possibly claim otherwise in good faith? Since it cannot, one then hastens to ask what credible and proper justification can there be for the fact that it just doesn’t care?
Equally clear is that in choosing to court treason and shame its personnel by its behavior the DOD has cast its lot with a group of unrepentant, Christian psychotics, at least in the case of OSU, as evidenced by something it calls its up-coming “Military Crusade in Iraq!” Sounds like the Iraqis have convinced the Pentagon that it is neither wanted nor needed in Iraq, so it has hired OSU to “rub their noses in it,” Christian-style, so to speak!
Just for fun, here is the statement of OSU’s most heartfelt belief. As reported by Max Blumenthal, it comes from the Book of Revelation, authored by St. John The Evangelist. Moreover, as reported, it speaks to what has become “the bedrock of the Christian right's End Times theology.”
"The devil and his angels, the beast and the false prophet, and whosoever is not found written in the Book of Life, shall be consigned to everlasting punishment in the lake which burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death."
Sage words, to be sure!
But only if you get to define “the devil and his angles,” the “beast” and the “false prophet,” and those “not found written in the Book of Life,” all of which, I take it, refer to anybody who does not share in the terror-filled and hate-besotted psychosis of St. John, himself, or the likes of OSU's Jonathan Spinks and Stephen Baldwin, it would seem:
and best of all, one would logically think, only if you personally get to determine and witness the appropriate punishment yourself. St. John’s weakness was for burning lakes, apparently.
It all reminds one of what Berry Goldwater, the politically aware American Christian’s answer to St. John, who once opined, “Extremism in defense of liberty is no vice. Tolerance in the face of tyranny is no virtue!”
Again, sage words, no doubt – but only if you get to be the one to say what liberty is, and, of course, what tyranny is not…
and then just happen to be passionately fearful and hateful enough – if not to say passionately treasonous and psychotic enough - to actually get away with it by forever passionately demanding that that is simply the way things are going to be, all which seems to be the whole point of being an American Christian today.
Passionate evil will always triumph over reasonable civility, as they say!- a lesson mainstream Democrats have yet to learn, unfortunately!
Which brings us to a world-renowned expert on human psychopathy, Dr. Robert D. Hare, one of whose famous guidelines for recognizing the presence of the psychopaths among us is this:
… lacks any sense of remorse or guilt, and for that fails to take responsibility for the consequences of their own actions.
As with most of its gratuitously treasonable and psychotic escapades of late, one can probably look forward to this being the Pentagon’s fallback position once the radically anti-American consequences of its behavior in these matters become more apparent and all hell breaks loose.
As always, in Democratic truth, liberty, justice and freedom...
